PLS 2: Towards Zero Deaths and Serious Injuries in GCC & MENA

The incidence of road crashes in the region is rising at an alarming rate and is now the leading cause of death and serious injury among young adults. Sustained economic growth alone will not automatically deliver better road safety performance and may in fact lead to a period of increased traffic injuries. Transformational changes in the management of the road system along with ownership of the problem by multiple stakeholders are crucial to reduce road crash fatalities and injuries
